Just wanted to say hello.

After a frustrating time trying to find anyone at all to service and/or fix the couple of old watches i have, i've decided to lurk around and see if i could get into fixing and repairing as a hobby.

I don't have much in way of a budget and have no taste for Rolex etc, but come from an engineering background and find them fascinating.

Mostly wanting to purchase a starter kit of basic tools to open and diagnose problems.

Will get some pictures up of the old watches shortly, they're not valuable but i think the age and character appeals to me more than anything.

Cheers

Dave

Hello Dave and welcome to the forum. No need to blow the budget on tools have a look at Cousins uk online catalogue, they have budget tools which for the price are adequate for starting up. If you decide to go deeper into it then splash out abit to the next level. Avoid buying kits as they have many tools you will never use or want.purchase the basics, screwdrivers and tweezers these items get the best you can afford then build up from there.
