Hi I would like to introduce myself, my name is Waldo Roeg and I, like many I am sure, have come late to watchmaking. I have a love for story telling that I inherited from my family and first worked in Motion Pictures. From humble beginnings I ended up as a producer but all this ended in 2000 when I had a huge change of circumstances. 25 years later I retired from the NHS this Feb.

My love has been with time and the human experience in quantifying it. So my interest is wide from those early prehistoric clocks that still dot our landscape to the intricacies of atomic time and the definition of a second being disconnected from our planet. I love the science of time but even more so the philosophy of time. I have a large collection of watches both vintage and new and love astronomical complications such as the watches of Christian Van De Klaauw. I have just started my watchmaking course learning how to service or repair a watch. My aim is to service or restore my own collection.

Really pleased and excited to have found this community where questions can be put and learning made.
