Good day all here,

I have recently given into the bug of wanting to tinker with very tiny things.

Well tecnicaly upgrading the fun i can have when completing a project since i have done plenty of those small metal 3D puzzles and those can be quite fidly.

After watching wristwatch revival for a couple of months i spent a couple 100 euro on some watches and a few extra basic tools and whent at it.

I managed to put one of them back together and have it work again (it worked befor taking appart and still worked after putting back together) the rest had problems above my curent skill level, broken parts or to much rust.

After that first succes i felt that i would need a lot more experience in taking apart and putting back together again.

At first i wanted to take disasemble and reasemble that watch but i feared that i could break it at any point and would be left stranded.

But then luck struck an i found a batch of 200 mens watch movements for 1 euro each, a lot of similar ones among them raketa and the likes, so i bought that and a few more tools like a good set bras tweezers, those dial crowbars, som oil needles and a tiny vial of 9010.

I have sorted all those movements and have about 50 raketa 2603 movements, the rest is a mix of similar style movements.

I managed to make one that ran for at least a half hour before it gave up again out of two that where not working.

So my project now is to make as many working movements out of those 50 as i can and then try to make as many properly working ones as i can out of those.

I can practice a lot now, also i have plenty of spare parts so i don't have to fear losing or breaking parts (not that i don't fear it but it's good to know that after spending half an hour trying to find that cog that jumped away and you swore could not have gotten far you can get it fron another movement).

My goal is responsible fun so i won't be trying to restore any expensive watches anytime soon till i feel confident enough and have the right tools.

First you raise your skill level and then you match your tools to that level getting better and better at it each step.

Hope i can take some of you with me on my journey into the fine tinkering with watches, and join some of you on your journey.

I like tinkering and i like fidly stuf so it was only natural that i would find watches one day.
