Introduction

I am brand new to watch repair.  I have always been interested in watches and amazed by the people who had the knowledge and skill to repair a device with such incredibly small and complex internal workings.  The reason that I actually made the leap into the repair game is that I have a watch with sentimental value that has not worked in 20 years.  It was my first diving watch.  I have been diving for 40 years.  It is a 1982 Chronosport Atlantis 20 ATM that flooded after a jeweler on Cape Cod changed the battery and failed to replace the case back gasket properly.  I was thinking about sending it out for repair but now that I’m retired I decided that I wanted to challenge myself to become one of those people with ability to disassemble and repair these tiny devices. I bought a beginner tool set and have completely disassembled the watch without breaking anything.  I actually got it running but I discovered a broken plastic post in the keyless works which was preventing me from being able to set the date/time.  Now I’m stuck and I need some help on how to repair the post.  Long introduction I know but that’s my story.  I’ll be reaching out on the sight to discover how to resolve this issue.  Thanks for being here to help rookies like me!

Welcome, I saw this on eBay currently for sale, it is an ETA 555.112 I think, these movements are everywhere and interchange with the ETA 955.XXX versions on a lot of parts, you will have that watch working in no time, good luck....

Hello again, I meant to say the movement above was in a Chronosport Atlantis 20 ATM on eBay and wondered if you had the same movement in your watch, all the other Chronosport watches had auto-matic movements....
