2824-2 Clean Up.

Hi guys.

Received my Tissot that I'm using as a learning tool with the above movement in it.

Looks like some water damage. One of the movement holder screws is welded in. The movement works if shaken but it won't wind via the stem.

So Sunday is the day. Sit down and take my time :) tea and biccies.

Had a little time this evening.

1st part off. Looks ok not rusty and free.

1 problem is the stem release is stuck down so I can't line up the hands and can't safely discharge the main spring. Will have to wait till it stops manually.

Looks like the movement needs some TLC . Can't you hold the mainspring with a little larger screwdriver on the barrel arbor screw?  And gently tighten it and release the click spring? And then slowly discharge  the mainspring .

As you can see the movement holder screw is welded in, i have tried to lubricate it and even applied some heat but i just cant get it to budge.

The date wheel will be cleaned and re used but the dial is passed it , i noticed cousins have some Tissot dials, i also need a stem and crown, see dial below.

If someone knows what parts i need it would help me out massively.

so far not to bad for my 1st full strip and rebuild :)

Dial

movement tab/holders and screws.

Stem and crown. complete and ready to fit if possible?? i now cousins do Tissot them but not sure how i find out what was fitted out of the factory?
