Seiko Case Parts 7009 - Need Help

Hello All,

I am new to this forum but I did look around it a bit when I was looking into watch tools and getting started. I have acquired a few Seiko 7009 movements to get some practice working with Seiko before I tackle a Seiko Sea Lion M44 that I bought. 

However, since I have several movements, I thought it would be nice to piece together two watches with the two cases I have.

I am having some issue sourcing/identifying the case components. In the attached image you can see two cases. The numbers on them are 7009-875J (left) and 7009-8599 (right). For the 875J, I believe the crystal and the O-ring need to both be replaced but I cannot find a suitable replacement on CousinsUK. The closest I have found was for a 7009-8750 case, which has a chrome ring that I did not find when I took the crystal off this case.

For the 8599 case, I found the XAC311.652 Sternkreuz, Seiko 310T49ANS0 on CousinsUK which seems like a fitting replacement.

Additionally, I have several movements, but I do not have the movement holder rings used to settle the movement into the case. I saw in a post by  @Waggy (

) that he has created CAD files for the movement rings, but I was wondering if those rings are universal for all 7009 movement and case combinations. Even if those work, I do not have a 3D printer, so I was wondering if there is anywhere else I could source them.

You could try the Jules Borel database - it should tell you which case parts are common

maybe you need a Seiko casing guide which I would normally attach with the file sizes really big fortunately if you do a search you might find a link like this

finding casing parts for older watches can be a challenge because the watch companies do not necessarily keep the parts for all the watches they ever made because the volume of parts to be so huge they probably don't a warehouse anywhere on the planet they keep all of them.

then there's another problem that affects acquiring parts are often times watches were destined for specific markets. This means they won't stock those case parts in other countries is that country is never going to get that case for instance. We also end up with a lot of Japanese Seiko watches that were never meant to leave Japan and getting anything on those is impossible even trying to find a tech sheet for some of the vintage stuff is basically impossible

I will most definitely be checking these out. I was thinking about doing this before I turned to the forum, but even then, I do not have a 3D printer. This could be a good excuse to get one and it seems there are a fair amount of tools and components that could be pretty easily 3D printed.

I really appreciate the linking to this post. Upon some quick review I couldn't find any information pertaining to the 7009 cases I was looking for. I see case information for 7009-500 though 811 but nothing passed that. I am hoping there is some amount of compatibility between cases of the same movement so if I can find a similar style case with crystals in stock, maybe I can squeeze a fit.

Does Seiko sell bracelet links too?  I need three for my Grand Seiko.

I was asking my material house once for something Seiko related and give it to any of the upper end lines basically know she cannot get them and don't even think about asking about the grand Seiko. I believe grand Seiko has a website and even the normal Seiko site in this country where there do the repairs you get pricing for all your watches if you look at the pricing it says anything grand Seiko goes to Japan. So my guess is if you need case parts or anything else for grand Seiko you're going to have to go to the grand Seiko website and ask nicely because that's going to be the only way.

 Yes I know, the watch has to go to Japan whereas all I need is links to its bracelet. Considering its sentimental value its not going anywhere far.

I don't think it has to go to Japan at least I wouldn't send that there. You should be able to give them the case number and whatever numbers you have off the band and perhaps a picture of it and explain that you just need some links and see if they'll help you out.

Its registered with Grand Seiko, they have all info about it. 

Bought it at Seiko Dubi. Send it in they keep replying.

interesting? Quite a while ago I was inquiring with my local material house about a gasket for particulars Seiko data watch and the answer we got back from Seiko was send it to us. Which of course I was not going to do and basically the reason why was because they didn't have a gasket and they would fit it. I wonder if maybe grand Seiko is going to fit a new band or something?

It is kind of unacceptable customer service isn't it for something that nice inexpensive
