Hello all. I am new to this form. I stumbled upon it through the fantastic YouTube videos on the Watch Repair Talk channel.

I am a Clinical Laboratory Scientist by day and wannabe watchmaker by night. Actually I could never aspire to the heights and skills of Mark, but maybe with some practice and time I might become decent enough. My current occupation I believe has direct application to watch repair/making. I am quite comfortable working with very small samples and magnification.

I have been collecting watches for some time now and have recently taken to learning the insides. I have been reading and learning as much as possible, and collecting basic tools. I plan to do the Nicholas Hacko guide to tear down and rebuild a Seiko 7s26c very soon. I have also been collecting old cheap watches to learn on after the Seiko adventure.

I am certain I will have many questions as I do already. If I ask too many kindly let me know!

I have attached just a few of my very humble collection to actually make this post interesting.

Thank you Mark for all of your fantastic videos and this forum, and also the other contributors here with vast knowledge I hope to tap.

Alec

Welcome to the forums AlecJ, as you say Marks videos are very interesting and are 1st. class. Like anything watch repairing has to be learnt and the best way of learning is by doing, try to find some junk watches to practice on. There are people at all levels here so any question's you might have are bound to get an answer on here.
