Omega Repairs

Recommended Posts

Hi, Mike here new to this forum.

Having read loads of posts I know that I,m going to get the help I need.

Question for Mark.

Been watching your videos for a long time and have learned a lot. Haven't been able to subscribe but due to some silly Facebook glitch haven't been able to sort.

I feel that it is only fair to subscribe so can you tell me how I would do it?

I have concentrated my collecting on vintage Omega's but am concerned to read on one of you posting about some changes taking place in Decemberk with Omega.

Could you give me the gist of what's happening.

Many thanks, Mike

Okay, noob question!

On the subject of Omega repairs, can anyone tell me what are the most typical spares required for vintage calibres? I have a 286, a 601 and a 610, all of which are runners but would like to collar a few of the more likely parts before things get difficult. Should I even worry?

Thanks.

I personally wouldn't worry too much. If your watches are in good condition and you service them every five years or thereabouts, the will more than likely outlast you without needing parts.

Thanks a lot Geo, very interesting reading.

If Cousins are worried there is cause for concern.

Swatch who own Omega will alienate lots of faithfull followers.

I know that generally Omegas last a lifetime plus especially if they are cleaned and oiled regularly but there are still times when collectors will need to replace parts to revive damaged timepieces.

Why would they want to make life difficult for their followers?

A matter of wait and see.
