Slightly "interesting" experience trying to create an account (fields kept going white and not accepting text - same on Android and Win10). Never mind that, looks like it's worked now.

I had mechanical watches when I was young (a Timex boy's watch lasted many years!) but had been using quartz watches for many years. Back in 2011 I saw a Pulsar automatic watch (7S26 movement) and thought "let's have a mechanical watch again". That watch was remarkably accurate and I "regulated" it by positioning it strategically when not wearing it, to the extent that it was rarely more than about 5 secs out either way. Then it started losing time after 9 years of literally never stopping. A pretty good run for a £60 watch and since then I've been interested in the affordable end of the watch spectrum. I'd be too scared to wear a £1000+ watch for fear of breaking or losing it.

My forthcoming question will relate to one of these "affordable" watches....
