Hi all, new member looking for some suggestions on trying to get my watch working or just scrap it.

New battery a while ago but still registers 5.4v.  Watch will not move.  Little are that hooks around screw and is over the battery was loose so I tucked it back under screw. Any help or advice is appreciated!

I suspect that the arm (which you have tucked back under the screw) must be firmly in contact with the installed battery. Re-install the battery and then tighten the screw (shown at 11 o'clock in your bottom photo) and put the back back on. I'm sure somebody else will be along with better ideas.

Welcome to the forum.

In any case Fossil is/was a "fashion" brand and it is unlikely to be "worth" anything other than as a working watch.

Was the 370/371 Energizer what was in it when it was last working?

Can you make out the calibre number of the movement?

When you say the voltage of the battery is 5.4V, that can't be right. A new battery would only be 1.55V.

And another thing I just spotted is the -ve contact spring seems to be missing. It could just be the photo or the lighting.

I don‘t see the contact as well. May be broken off?

The movement is a Ronda 515 which costs about 10 bucks (battery included).
