Hello,

I just wanted to politely introduce myself.  I'm a 43 year old American who has been living in England for 20 years or so.  I've recently been bitten by the watch bug and started collecting and tinkering - both in very modest ways.  Various family members have passed me old(ish) watches which I've been learning from and I even managed to buy all the requisite parts to assemble a Seiko-based timepiece for my wife.  Now I'm trying to build up the courage and knowledge to start making some more serious adjustments and repairs to other watches.

Do we just can you Sir for short?

Sir seems a bit formal, not least as my name was originally a moniker I used for a much-loved dog. Perhaps Short or even Pants would be better.
