Hi

I need a mainspring for a 1920's Ingersoll Wrist movement. Does anyone have source for this mainspring. I have tried several places with no luck. I would appreciate help with this.

Tank you,

Tony

If you have the ols spring measure length thickness and height  then have a look at cousins uk for their GR mainsprings. There is a comprehensive list or Alternativly watch guy mainsprings  for a GR listing.

You need to post a couple of good pixtures to let others identify the mov.t.

Also, there is mo secret place for parts, have a read of our pinned topic below.

That being said, as explained by wartchweasol the normal procedure for identifying a replacement mainspring is to measure it and orde by size e.g. with the search available on Cousins UK. If the exact size is not available a small approximation for strength and length is acceptable.

Hi If you are unsure how to proceed, then take jdm's advice and post some pictures of the movement front and back and the dial as ther are different makes of the ingersol ie triumph etc some had ingerol/smiths made movements as some were made under the Anglo Celtic watch co in Wales and are different so pictures are important to determine the make. Also look on the rear of the front plare under or close to the balance for a number   ie cal  400 or Cal  450 again significant and instrumental in the identification .          cheers

Hi  This one on the American made ones, I notice there is a serial number on the plate but its illegible.  If you go to the pocket watch database and see if they recognise the number in their table

Getting the genuine article will be nigh on impossible, so remove the spring carefully afer releasing any power  still in the barrel and measure for a GRspring. get the closest toy can but do not exceed any of the parameters.
