Hey

Can anyone recommend a good tool for cutting winding stems to size? Evey time I buy a replacement stem I need to cut it to size. Looking for a tool that does a nice clean accurate cut. And of course not hundreds of pounds.

Using a disc on a drill at moment so it's a bit hit and miss.

Cheers

Gary

I use now a value Cousins cutter and does fine. Before I used the cutting section of whatever old cheap pliers and there was not much of a difference. Because you want to inspect and sometime retouch the cut with a file anyway, which takes about 5 seconds.

Has anyone tried Maun cutters? They are double jointed for increased mechanical advantage, so no more grunting, huffing and puffing. The jaws are made of hardened steel and don't chip.

Mine are over 30 years old and well used, but the jaws are fine. Cousins has them in their catalog.
