Omega Seamaster 178.0504 Case Tube

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I managed to get a case tube for my omega seamaster professional 178.0504.

It seems to be original and I think I have the right omega reference number (see photo attached).

Although most measures are the same, the part of the tube that goes inside the case is shorter than the original and does not fit tight.

The crown fits perfect in the case tube.

I know that some years the case tube was replaced during one of the services, so I don't even know if the one in the watch was original.

Anyway, it seems that the solution if to find a way to get the case tube tighter to the case. Glue? What material should I use and what is the best procedure.

Many thanks 989538c3a763baf735246427226cb0bd.jpg

It is tight enough that I cannot pull it with the brass tweezers, but if i screw the crown it  rotates when the crown threat reached the end and I can pull it out by pulling the crown.

I believe Loctite 263 (red) will do the job well. Just concerned in the future if I need to remove it, if I will be able to do it with the red threadlocker.
