Hello everyone,

My story to start reading this forum was rather simple and expected.

Being a technical person I always had passion to watches since my childhood. One of my old watches (based on ETA 955.112) which was gifted to me when I was around 12 started to behave badly: first i feel the tension in moving the hands and then the crown unscrewed from the stem as well as the mineral crystal had a lot of scratches.

I decided to service it but lockdown already started. I was working from home that time and decided to understand how the watch is serviced by reading books and watching videos in my free time. I started to gather my collection of the equipment starting from screwdrivers, ultrasonic washing machine, oilers,  tweezers, winders and bought second hand broken and working movements, oils etc. I was really surprised how difficult was to find the parts and materials but that didn't stop me.

I destroyed few movements already, and serviced few but what is more important for me is that after 2 months of this practice i successfully serviced my childhood watch as well as replaced the glass.

I am not going to stop and would like to join this community to learn more.
