Jewel seat opening tool

I had a free half day yesterday and made this tool. Two ~10cm long 6mm diameter rods were grinded to its half size then shimmed together. The tip was turned in the ER20 "lathe".

Yes i had to push the workpiece deeper.  It was a real pain making it round initially. I also had to improve the lathe driving setup. A bigger wheel was needed on the electric motor to achieve higher speed.

The tip is 1.3mm in diameter. This just fits in the smallest hole i could find in my watches. This was not the final shape :)

The two half of the tool.

And the finished tool in open position. The screw has an M3 thread. A slot was cut in one half to avoid stress on the welding at the end.

Now comes the question how to use it properly? To set the desired diameter and turn, or ream one dierction then decrease the tool and ream in other direction? Is a video out there showing the process? I want to try it today night :)
