Serviced a 17j HMT watch today with no issues just very dirty & it is running great.  However I have no lift angle info available for the HMT so just wondering if any of you guys have this info available.

Hello clockboy, Most lift angle's are between 48 and 54 degrees to find the exact one I suggest you get in touch with the movement manufacture.

I used the default setting a timographer uses which is 53 deg. Unfortunately HMT no longer manufacture watches.

CB,

I could be wrong but I believe that most HMT calibres are based on Citizen movements.

If you can identify the Citizen calibre yours is based on then look here;

I could have that completely wrong though, but maybe worth a look.

The timegrapher needs to know the lift angle of the movement under test in order to correctly calculate the amplitude of the balance.

Check out page 2 of this thread;

Steffan does an excellent job of explaining how it works.

Small deviations from the correct lift angle will only result in small errors in the calculated amplitude but it is observable.

Agree I just wondered if anyone had HMT angles. Just by looking at the balance movement I knew there is not much amiss

As Mark said it is a licenced Citizen movement (maybe 0231 or 020). 52 degrees ;) I have 3 HMTs.
