Hey,

My name is Dan, From Chicago, IL.  I recently started tinkering with watches with some success, reviving a seiko 7s26.  I work in a science lab so I am use to staring down microscopes and manipulating things with forceps.  Have  a few hobbies, brewing beer, photography and I hope watch fixing.

Welcome aboard Dan, I'm sure you'll like it here.

I do like your choice of hobbies, very similar to mine except that I only drink beer, I don't make it!

Thanks,

I started tinkering with watches when I realized that I really do make good beer- I just don't drink enough!

My hope to keeping some old watches from the scrap heap, I hate to see history get lost.  Already have family scrambling to have me look at old watches, just wanna practice more before I even think about those watches.

Welcome Dan,

Watch repairing is a fascinating hobby and getting something to work when it had been given up for dead is very satisfying.  I only work on my own watches and would not dream of opening up anything of real value,  like a Rolex or Omega,  I know my limits.  Any questions you have should find an answer here.

Hi Dan

I love tinkering not great at it yet but there is time, I love a bargain and fixing broken things so this works out well as a hobby! Just got this seiko sold as spares or repairs and all it needed was a retaining ring and it is good as new!
