Painting Hands

Recommended Posts

Here are a few examples of hands I have painted with acrylic model paint. Did this on some cheap Chinese watches for fun.

Painted within the silver outline but may repainted complete hands and make the top marker yellow? Thoughts?

i've thought about doing this, but mainly just adding some color to the ends of the second hands. i like what you've done. yellow on ANY watch looks good.

i'm sure that paing viscosity would become a real issue when dealing with something so small.

I've re-lumed hands (on a couple of WW2 military watches) rather than re-painted - and there's a very good video by Mark on exactly how to do it. Lumed hands of that sort are slightly different - with hollow metal outlines which are repainted/filled in from the underside - so not quite the same as your projects. But hands are easier to re-lume than the dial markers - and, if you do the hands without also doing the markers, it can look odd!
