Does anyone know where I might find one of these tools. I have checked eBay and searched the Internet. I know they do not make them any longer but would like to find one if possible. Thanks for the help.

They do turn up on eBay , save a search and they will let you know when one comes up , hopefully won't be to long

The Platex is no longer manufactured by Bergeon. I purchased my one approx. 4  years ago. Occasionally they do appear on flee bay but always sell for silly money. Therefore I would invest in a quality staking tool with the appropriate stumps etc.Also if you come across one of these they are excellent for the larger balance staffs & are used in conjunction with the staking set,

As the guy's say, they are scarce these days, but they do turn up occasionally on the likes of the Bay. If you get the chance of one, make sure that all of punches are clear, and not blocked with broken pivots. Expect to pay between £200 and £300 for a good one these days. If I come across one I'll give you a shout.
