Get someone local to tig it ,very easy fix and should only take a few minutes so probably wouldn’t cost much ,or failing that get it very clean and silver solder it.

Thanks Dell. I thought about silver soldering. Have never done it but would like to give it a go. Do you think to put flux on the butted joint then run the solder in or to maybe brace it with a piece of scrap spring steel?

Thanks WW - I'll give it a go and it's good to know you might be able to help if i mess it up..

Will need some guidance on the silver soldering. Should I smooth the edges of the break or leave them rough? Will a butane gas torch be okay for it? Could I use a plumber's solder like this?

Personally I would get it very clean butt the two together add flux it will go between joint anyway then solder but not sure if butane would be hot enough .
