These brass tools have conical ends of various sizes...???

I got them several years ago and finally decided to investigate.

I think they are for pushing out balance jewels in pocket watches.  I just did that yesterday, so it is fresh on my mind.

They look home made turned down from brass rod.

A highly skilled machinist could do that, but they are all very close in design.  I do not believe they are homemade.

Pretty sure they are jewel pushers like this.

probably factory made but they could also be made by students in watchmaking schools. Often times for lathe projects stuff like this would be made.

Then yes they are the jewel pushing tools for pushing out balance jewels.

for instance here's an example of what the Elgin College was having the students make. At the bottom are the jewel pushers I just gave you the whole page
