🤔 so how is this relevant to the crystal coming out. I've never heard of a crystal that comes out through the back. ? -

Very kind of you chief, the problem is the roller table and knowing if it will interact with the fork. Another roller for this calibre is what i probably need the most. It will have to sit for now while I'm away on holiday for a week. Its an interesting little piece with the cardboard dial which i still haven't got to the bottom of yet. Curious as the OP said his 554 was marked Invicta and this made up dial is also branded Invicta. -

Looking at Nev's graph the thinner longer spring is delivering less torque but over a longer period of time. For this to happen and completely unwind itself increasing the power reserve the friction through the train must be less than if a specified spring were fitted. -
Ok. Update. Checked under a microscope, there is no lip, it just looks like one. So, I'm convinced I need to back the ring out. I'll need to make a tool of some sort.
