Hi Folks-

Just stopping by to say Hi. Hope to learn much here from the members here....the goal is to service my '92 DJ Rolex below.  Sorry for the bad pic. Was just doing some cleaning on it at the time.

Lol. That's problem with seeing pics. Happens to me, too.

I do like the watch too.  Not fond of the new champagne DJ dials. They look tacky to my eyes.  My local RSC in NYC demanded to replace the nice T SWISS T dial and hands on mine when I was in asking about what they do when servicing a watch....NO WAY.  My watches' dial and hands are in perfect condition.

Needless to say they did NOT touch my watch.

Hi welcome to the forum enjoy. I reccomemnd you practice on lesser movements before the Rolex. Lots of guys here to advise & also share their tales of woe.

Welcome aboard, I'm sure you will enjoy the journey. If you're just starting watch repairing, take Clockboy's advice and start on something a lot less valuable. ;)

Gents- I have no intention of going near my Rolex to service it in the foreseable future with more training/experience.... I'm not crazy.

I've done some Miyota's and ETA's without issue, though, and the the 3135 is a pretty straightfoward movement to service.

Its the sourcing of its parts that's the biggest issue in my mind and, of which, will keep me away.

This is the issue now for most  of us guys. Servicing an Omega/Rolex etc is one thing but if something goes wrong/gets broken or just needs a part replacing we are stuffed, If asked to service one of the above it will be at the customers risk.
