Need help removing the stem from a Seiko Majesta 9063A movement

Hi,

I just purchased this watch and there seems to be some difficulty turning and pulling the crown to set the date and time. I suspect there is dirt around the part that holds the stem. Can anyone help me identify where the stem release is?

How would you go about finding the fault to fix, once you removed the stem?
