Knife fob from MSR USA. Who is MSR?

I got a watch fob with a small pen knife on it with the engraving MSR USA on it. I'm wondering if anyone know what company name MSR stands for. I've done some google-fu but nobody gives a name to go with MSR.

There is a company that I know of that makes backpacking equipment (tents, stoves, etc) called MSR. It stands for Mountain Safety Research. I believe REI acquired them.

Me too. In addition to watchmaking my other hobbies are backpacking and landscape photography. All three of which seem to be never-ending money pits!

In similar fashion to ASUAG and SSIH,  MSR was the grouping of four respected Swiss watch companies in the early 60s  Buser, Vulcain, Phenix and Revue. I cant remember what the MSR stands for though. Not sure why USA ?

I think they probably had a factory in the US. Maybe just for blades and assembly.
