Hello all the way from the middle of South Pacific

I am purely a victim of circumstances and ended up living in the Tahitian islands from 1976 on. It's a long story. I caught the watch bug a few years ago, friends found out about it and asked me to change batteries for them, which is all that I've dared to do until today. I'd like to become a confirmed watch repair person but old age, bad eyes and a lack of patience that I used to  have as a nipper amidst other health issues are all ganging up against me. Hence my reason for wanting to join the forum.
