Hello AusiePete

Welcome to the forum. Good collection of members here.

I have been at it 12 month now. So enjoyable.

Same as you. Started with Marks course. Cheap set of tools in a bag. Still using them. Only one piece of advice. Get cheap watches to practice on. Not movements. Once you eventually repair a movement, you have nothing to put it into. Unless you know which case it came from, or the dial needed, you are knackered. I only buy a movement for the spares needed for a restore.

I use YouTube for practical demonstrations on the movements that I have.

I still refer to Marks course. Been good value. Working my way through level 3. Taken me this long to be able to fully understand the principles. It's a good apprenticeship here. As Mark says, Practice, practice and more practice.

Regards

Ross
