Help with Omega Quartz Seamaster 1342

Recommended Posts

Hello

Some time ago i went and tried to get a battery replacement for my newly aquired watch (the Omega Quartz Seamaster 1342), and they said that the kind of battery that the watch was using is illegal now. Is there any battery replacements for the battery used in these?

Here is the backsite of the watch with the battery on the side

The 388 battery was a mercury cell and as such has been out of manufacture now for decades.

It appears that 329, 392, or 384 cell may be suitable alternatives although they are slightly smaller than the 388. At least one company supplies a 329 to 388 converter here.
