eBay Crystal Let Down

I recently purchased a replacement crystal for a Seiko Lord Matic that I'll be starting soon.  I found one on eBay for a good price, the seller had a 100% rating with nearly 1500 reviews.  The crystal was listed with a condition of 'New with tags', what I got was a completely unusable crystal, scratched and cracked beyond repair.  I've never asked for a refund before on eBay, but I submitted a request for this.  Hopefully I'll get word back from the seller before pushing the issue further with eBay.   Bad luck I suppose.  It's not any sort of specialty crystal, so I'll probably just get on Cousins and place an order for one that will work.

I have on occasionally applied for a refund on eBay and have been successful., The process is slow but works.

I totally understand, mistakes can happen. They just always seem to happen to me!  Haha.

Aye thor mate. You will definitely get a refund. Does sound like a mistake, you dont get 100% good feedback selling items like this. If packet sealed the seller wont have known.

It wasn't sealed, but we'll see what happens I suppose.  It isn't the end of the world though.  I think I paid around $27 for the crystal after shipping.

Ebay is all for the buyer. But i doubt the seller will quibble and risk a hit on his feedback.

Watchmakers like to put old parts into bags of the new one and keep them for bad times or so.

A seller however must check what he sells.

I intentionally haven't left any feedback yet for the seller, in the hopes they'll just provide a refund or send me another.  I wanted to give them an opportunity to make it right before making them take a hit on their 100% reputation.  I'm sure it'll get resolved eventually.

Don't worry. it will, and probably faster than you expect. If in the unlikely event the seller is difficult, Ebay is behind you all the way.
