I have a tray of movements I've screwed up during my adventures. I don't know if this is recommended or not, but it's what I've done, and it's mostly worked out. I go through my borkulated movements, and pull screws and try them until I find something that at least works in terms of gauge and thread pitch. Then I'll either find a similar screw of the correct length (assuming the first one doesn't get the job done), or file the one I found down until it does what needs doing. If I can't do that, the movement missing a screw goes into a pile of movements that I haven't finished because I need parts, and I can order one or look over the next movement I can't salvage for whatever reason.
