So i am a complete noob. Ive never taken apart a watch but im lol for help from y’all. I have my grandfathers old watch that id really like to wear. It runs well, i just need one link on the bracelet to make it wearable. I have tried eBay to no avail. I have tried googling the brand of the watch with different combinations of serial numbers on the back. Any help from y’all would be so greatly appreciated

I save broken bracelets for just this reason.  Don't get your hopes up, it doesn't look familiar.  How wide/thick is the band?  Your photos show it having a different appearance in different frames.  Which one is most accurate?  Most people won't have multiples for you to choose from but if you do get to choose, I'm sure, you would be happier with a color match.

That's a museum watch from the '80s, it will be almost impossible to find links for that bracelet.

Strangely enough, just the other day I looked at one very similar, a neighbor had one that was missing the case back, and asked if there was a chance of getting a replacement.

My answer was that the best (slim) chance there was to find a part would be to contact the Movado service center in New Jersey. Unlikely they can help with something this old, but it costs nothing to try 🙂

Ebay may come up with something eventually, but it would require great patience. Save your search and let Ebay send you email when new items become available, and someday maybe your ship will come in.

Oh, and there are such things as extenders that can be fixed to the clasp. Check with a good jeweler, they may be able to come up with something that will let you wear the watch.

Cheers!

Some snap backs can be fitted with watch crystal, so you have an exhibition back and if your lucky it might even look good.
