Magnification Levels For Inspection?

Recommended Posts

for Timex,.. if we can call this like this.........bearing !...when I replace the tiny screw on top of the balance wheel, I screw slowly and when the balance wheel doesn't turn, I slack a quarter turn. Just enough for that the wheel turn easily... sure I fill the tiny cuo at quarter. It's enough..I use a 10x or something about 15 or 20x loupe....but I pay attention to the hair-spring and don't lost the tiny stud... otherwise.... search me . :lolu:

As a rule I use 3x when disassembling a movement.

Assembly work I like to do under a 6x stereo binocular microscope.

General inspection work 12x.

Hair spring and close inspection 25x.

I can go to 62.5x with the microscope which can have its uses but that's rare.
