Usually its a pivot worn so short that lets pivot shoulder rub on housing or pivot is broke, some setting like incabloc you can just flip the end stone to have the domed side of it face the pivot  this practice is probably not classic but works.

So we need to know what tyoe of setting is in your watch.

Any part of the oscilator rubbing on anything can be the cause, like roller table rubbing on the fork, or hairspring rubbing on balance wheel or balance cock, next the balance wheel should be detached from the cock to see if the pivot is indeed short or is it some other fault.

Replace the balance complete, later as you gain more experience you can rebuild this balance complete which involves a restaff and poise.

It only work for 30 minutes then stop

Thirty minutes run in the position it stopped before, so pivots are probably alright.

Does it run much longer in the other position?

Sounds like a set mainspring.

A number of things can cause a watch to play up, the most common is dirt, old oil. I have even known lose screws to cause this. When was it last serviced? If you are able to remove the back and take close up photos of the movement we might be able to spot something.

I have put it on and then find out the watch isn't working well.

Is a brand new watch, I will attach some pictures later today.

If it's brand new and you haven't opened it take it or send it back. If it has been opened that makes the guarantee none and void.

Ask them to exchange it for another.
