Recommended Posts

I too have a Longines 7084460 with broken mainspring. What would be the correct replacement spring for it and do Cousins do one.? The number is engraved on the movement. This number is engraved inside the case back. 23204 114

Thanks guys.

In Lesson 3.4.2 of Mark's classes (that I just took) he has a good segment on how to find the proper replacement for a mainspring.

You'll need to know the following:

  1. Height
  2. Length
  3. Thickness
  4. Type of attachment

Once you have that you should be able to use this to look up the GR code: https://www.cousinsuk.com/category/filter/mainsprings-by-size-watch-pocket

Perhaps you will get lucky and someone will know the GR code from the movement number, but if not give the above a shot.

Always nice to have a picture of the back of the watch this way were all on the same page.  My guess is the model number is not the model number it's really a serial number. As it seems way too long for model number. Then the case back number possibly could tell us the model number but usually it's for casing parts Crystal crown that sort of thing. Which means we need the model number of the watch a picture of the backside would really be helpful

The number on the movement is probably the serial number. To source a mainspring you need the caliber number, which is usually found under the balance wheel. If you cant spot the caliber number post a picture here, someone will probably recognise it.
