Hi all,

Brand new to this watch repair malarky but inspired by my (recently) late godfather, who was a highly accomplished horologist and long-standing BHI member. In addition to restoring watches and pocket watches, he built clocks from scratch (the Congreve Rolling Ball Clock amongst others) and serviced/repaired many of the church clocks in North Norfolk. He left me a huge collection of tools, lathes etc, most of which I will be unable to use, apart from the more basic. I am starting Mark’s courses now, have invested in a modest amount of new tools and apparatus and am looking forward to doing my late godfather proud as I head into retirement with a new ‘hobby’.

For no other reason than my admiration of him, I have attached a picture of another clock he built and of his workshop.

Thanks for having me!

Paul

Indeed - I guess made using the same instruction set.

My godfather’s Congreve Rolling Ball Clock looks wonderful, but by his own admission, is a terrible timekeeper!

The one above is a bit more reliable.

Thank you for the welcome.
