Morning all!  Moved to the US 17 years ago, from Yorkshire, now in Idaho!  I'm completely new to the hobby, already a little apprehensive, but also excited to learn and take a dive into the inner secrets of these gorgeous mini machines!

1st on the list will be not getting cray with tools, but hopefully buying smart, don't want the Mrs. to get too excited about the bills!

Welcome Dave.

You can go "budget" with most tools except the screwdrivers. Good ones will make learning much more enjoyable, but bad ones will frustrate the heck out of you. However, I would recommend your first purchase be a nice piece of jewelry for the Mrs. Then the tools won't bother her (as much).

Thank you for your introduction and welcome to this friendly forum.

Dumont tweezers are a must, makes handling tiny parts much more easy.
