Hands on Timex Electric don't move

I'm hoping this is a simple fix but before I try to dive in head first I'd like to see if anyone has run into this before. I have a 78 Timex Electric 77950 26278. I got this in the mail the other day, put a battery in it and set the time day and date. It ticks just fine and the hands move with the crown without issue but this morning I noticed that the hour and min hands aren't actually moving with the time. I was going to start pulling it apart but since I'm still inexperienced I would like a little guidance for what I should look for.

Yes the second moves and keeps time

Hi according to the serial number its a 262 made in 78  I have attached the service manual to give you a hand.   You will need to get the movement out of the case and remove the dial and hands.  and check out the canon pinion /hour wheel engagement.       cheers

there are a few Timex movements I steer clear of and this is one of them....
