Pith wood holder

Any recommendations for a pith wood holder, something with a lid? I used a small aluminium tin but that’s too light and I pick up the pith wood or even the whole tin with several pith discs. I’d rather not to go the trouble of buying a clock barrel and cutting it down, something easy and practical would be nice

Hi try putting a piece of lead in the bottom of your tin, you can fix it in place using double sided tape for a quick fix untill something more suitable comes along.

A low candlestick or there are brass holders you can use for making your own candlestick. Like this

A piece of round pith. Old bottle top, nail it to your bench, press pith over bottle top, the jagged edges of the top and nail will hold it secure
