Today I chose, from my small and humble collection, to wear my the first mechanical watch I ever bought and that started me on this sickness. My Seiko SNK809. Here it is with a Bond strap. Today I'm actually wearing it with an ACU Grey Maratac strap. I still think this is one of the nicest watch values around.

Ahh... Seikos, look good, run forever, parts are out there (no Swatch shenanigans), what's not to like? Mind you the patriot in me  would rather like a Bremont or Smiths Astral

Oh, I do like my Astral, it's good for the complexion!

Seriously though, it's one of my favourite watches.

I want one but they are well beyond my very limited budget at the moment. Mind you I aught to bite the bullet, I spend £20-30 on an old scrapper and probably spend £30-60 doing it up.

Thanks, Geo. I'm finding lately that being able to read a watch dial without my readers is a major selling point.

Nice '5' Will. I especially like the yellow second hand.

I would really like a Smith's Astral too. Must be something genetic as my family comes from Ganton, North Yorkshire.
