  1. Just recently i have been rather busy with a large intake of repairs & servicing, i figured since ive worked so hard ( and yet still have more to do ) id treat myself to another tool. I know i don't really need it but i do like Bergeon tools and this one i picked up is in mint condition with original box. I normally use my Bergeon staking set but this will make a nice addition to my growing collection. Sad that a new tool makes me excited, or are you guys like me ? Next on my list is the Bergeon hairspring collet tightening tool :) Hopefully i should have some nice watch photos to upload over the coming weeks as i have had an Omega repair frenzy including a rather battered Omega RAF 1953 Cal 283 and also a return of a personal favourite 1956/58 Seamaster, and not forgetting a complete restoration of a Tudor Oyster Princess :D

  2. Hi I picked up this set the other day for a nice price, they clean up well. The sets not quite complete though as under the #3 winding arbor is a #4 barrel - not sure I'll ever use that size, but I'll need to look out for one now. What I find curious, and it's the same with many old tools I've bought, is there is no sign of a makers mark on any of the winders or the box. The only marks on them are "FRANCE" and "DEPOSE", which I think means registered - who by who knows? Stephen

  4. Here is my $50 pivot drill. And here is another drilling tool for a wide range of pivot sizes.

  5. I look forward to seeing the new photos. From your description I had assumed that the main spring is already fully wound down because of a missing link somewhere in the gear chain (pallet fork perhaps as Bob suggested). But if I am misunderstanding, then hold onto the winding key when disconnecting anything and let the mainspring down slowly. Just a thought ... perhaps the platform pinion is not engaging the main gear train. It is adjustable with a fairly fine fit and it could easily have become disconnected. Here is a pic of a carriage clock that I recently fitted with a new platform. You can see it through the top window. The red colour is a reflection!
