  3. So today i'm wearing this Tissot or so it claims to be. I got it about a year ago cheap as a non runner of our friend the bay. I have no problems with the movement CHs Tissot & Fils 17 jewels cal 781 its just the repainted dial the fact that's its glue to the movement with sticky dots and it doesn't look like any other Tissot seastar. I have noticed a lot of them surfacing on the bay all with re-finished dials and too good to believe cases maybe someone in india has a dial press and is churning out hundreds. Plus they are going for about £30 to £60 which seams alot seeing as I wouldn't have paid more than £5 mine as a none runner so in conclusion I think its a frankenwatch any thoughts people.

  4. Good result on the dial but the hands get lumed from underneath not from the top. Braver than me though. Haven't had the guts to try a dial yet. [emoji4]

  5. Heatmolded some dvd-cover pieces which are 1mm thick polystyrene. One of four seems acceptable. At this stage I turned my attention to glass since railroad watches were usually equipped with glass crystal. Heatglued a piece of 2mm glass on my special "lathe". The circe was cut with a tungsten carbide bit and the edge shaped with diamond powdered dremel disk and co**BLEEP** honing stone. After fine shaping with 2000 grit sandpaper the glass was fitted on a special crystal fitting tool (heating the bezel over a candle and copper plate). Perfect And suddenly .... I couldt close the lid 2mm glass is to thick.
