Heartbroken 770 movement repair

Hello everyone.

My name is Ger. I come from Ireland. I am very proud to say I am what I consider to be the holder of this amazing piece of American Watch History.

Hope your at this stage enjoy your evening about to sleep, wake, work or just be. It pains me to write this story. I dropped my beautiful  Hamilton 770 movement.

I have being spending and emailing everyone I could find or talk to about getting parts too repair her. I broken my front glass  which was no big deal (sobbing).  The parts I was told I need are a Setting wheel and a sweep hand post. When I ask people no one has any ideas.  I have spend the two year emailing. Watching stalking websites where i can find parts and I'm truly desperate. I do see same watches on eBay for sale but what if the parts I need are broken too.

So like every night I go to bed and hope by the time I wake up I have a email from one of thousands saying yes I have the parts, or get them here.

Best

welcome to the forum Ger. You'll find plenty of good advice on getting your watch back in working order. Something that usually helps is posting images of the problem. In your case, the Hamilton is quite easy to find and I also see a fair share or reasonably priced spare parts movements. were you planning on doing the repairs yourself?
