Optel Early LCD Movement Help

I came across this Optel LCD listed as a parts repairs.  First step was to check all the solder joints, and next to clean the display contacts with electronic cleaner.  

It didn't seem to do anything but while sitting on the bench about a week now I do see the display will fade in and out some.  My guess is the display is bad and will have to be replaced with one from a donor.  Anyone here ever work on one of these?

Just a thought. This worked for me twice so far. Take a look at cooking the IC carefully.

thanks, I will try this with the aid of a heat gun.
