please help me identify this Venus 178 part

Recommended Posts

Hi,
I have a Breitling Navimeter 806 with Venus 178 movement.
Unfortunately I have a lot of work to restore this nice watch. For some reason, somebody took off all the chrono part. and also some parts are missing from the hour counter...
I managed to identify most of the missing parts, but I cannot find this one.
Please help me identify the part number and if it is possible, please tell me where can I find it

That's part 8660 Detent with Arbor.  When the column wheel is rotated the arbor is turned activating the hour recorder.

If you haven't downloaded it already, the tech sheet for the 178 should be available from Cousins and it will list all the parts; this should help if you are missing several from someone else's botched work.

I do hope you post some pictures of the service or finished product too.  I'm a big fan of the 806 Navitimer.  I've got one now in which I've completed the service on but for which I need to find a replacement bezel.

The part is shown at the bottom left of page 2 on this pdf

If you want to buy the part, then the only one I can find is here http://www.scotchwatch.com/venus_parts_inventory.html, although it is very expensive and Jules Borel may have one cheaper but not showing results on a stock check so worth calling them.

Apologies for the other link, it covers most of the movement based on the 150, but doesn’t have the hour recorder.
