I don't like it to begin with but have bought it to practice on and ended up learning how to deal with fake watches, which is also part of the deal, just in case I'll have someone comes with a fake watch.
If anyone comes along with a fake watch. You should simply turn their custom away [emoji16]

I use the Horotec screwback case opener and is excellent, if not particularly cheap. See picture. There are cheaper non branded options on the market. In my opinion I wouldn't waste anymore expenditure on a jaxa type opener 7b87e42a70b7162408d1563529e4c2ce.jpg

I've learned my lesson of buying garbage and in fact, I've done it because of, to begin with I just started changing batteries and as I've said in the past just unknowingly got hooked into this hobby, and already started to order some real tools and not toys.

Yep we have all been there. But there are decent non branded stuff out there. I made the statement that I would never buy anything Chinese, in a "Load bearing context" but have recently acquired a water pressure tester. It's a Chinese copy of the Bergeon 5555/98 and it's excellent !

There are very good Chinese products and very bad ones as well. You need to have track record with a particular manufacturer in order to know if you want to buy his products or not.

I would say over 80% of Chinese tools I've come in contact with, were inferior either functionally, ergonomically or sub standard materials. But every product should be individually appraised. Never cut costs on tweezers. I prefer Dumont but they are not cheap. But back to subject. Consider a bench type opener and as Clockboy said, the Horotec will open anything

Thanks for your advice. I agree with you about the Chinese products,  and the Horotec is on my future shopping list now and in after reading all of the members input here, I am even scratching the Bergeon's Jaxa tool now, and save my money for the better one.

There is an entire thread dedicated to bench case openers, which can be found using the search box on the top right. The consensus, bases on multiple postings, is that the Chinese do work perfectly, for a fraction of the Horotec or Bergeon tools.

At $5 a piece, is not much money saved. Beside, actually they have different uses, the Jaxa opens and closes just fine a good 90% of screw back watches, and is much more practical and handy to use. No hobbyist should be without one.

Good to know. Thanks for the info.
