Sourcing Vintage Hands

Recommended Posts

Hi all, wonder if anyone can help. I am working on a watch from the 1950's and the hand sizes are in the middle of normal hand sizes. I have purchased some from Cousins, but even after reaming them out, they will not fit, as there would be no shoulder on the hand left.

I have a few watches that need these sized hands, any one know where to source vintage hands?

Thanks

I'd have a look at eBay - I've seen job lots of mixed hands on sale on a number of occasions. Sods law will dictate that you may have to kiss a few frogs before you find your princes, but it might worth a punt.

What exactly are you after? If you let us know, someone might have something lying around.

Watch type?

Hand shape and colour?

Lume or not?

Minute hand length and hole diameter?

Hour hand length and hole diameter?

Here in US I usually get them from ofrei.com.

They have a section for large hole watch hands.

I get mine from Ofrei as well, but as some here have found out, they charge a exorbitant International shipping fee...ridiculous! I mean, $54 to ship $5 hands?! :o
