It would help to know which manufactured this came from?  Link below covers several types of jeweled barrels.

I do have the Chicago School of watchmaking books so I best look in there. The question is how do you detach the spring from the area arbour when it appears that the arbour is attached to the lower barrel. This is my first Jewelled Barrel.

A first for me. I would have thought that if the arbour is friction fit into the jewel the best option would be to just release the spring from the arbour & un-coil in the normal way and leave the arbour & barrel intact. The other option would be to push the arbour out of the jewel with a staking tool. Someone with experience with this type of barrel might have better alternatives.
