This movement  have been worked on by a lot of of different people. Parts have been lost or broken in the process.

Hey @rogart63,

I am posting here on your question about the dial because I couldn't insert photos using the messenger system.

 

Here are pictures of the dial spacer for the Omega 1020 family of calibres

DSCN4849.jpgDSCN4848.jpgAs you can seem, it goes directly on the dial and sits between the movement and creates a small space between the dial and the calendar mechanism. If you don't have this in place, then that is the reason the movement stops working when the dial is on.
