The Ulysse Nardin watches are beauties . I have been outbid on a few so far , but I can see one in my future .

Youtube has some videos of this brand that gives you an appreciation  for them .

Your example illustrates the beauty of simplicity .

My favourite watch is my Speedmaster that I wore from 1970 until 2010, it now lives in my  a desk but I wind it regularly and it's never missed a beat.

Hi Ricardo, I wore it for many years,,,, then as I got older I put on weight and the strap became too tight! Now I come to think about it maybe I should lose some pounds!

Sound about right to me . That classic is a good incentive and just waiting to get back into the game .

Maybe you could send it off to Omega to get serviced ,[ I understand the watch comes back looking like new ] , then you will really want to be able to put it back on .

This can actually be a problem.  Watch collectors generally want to have Speedmasters that are totaly original, this includes hands and dials that probably will be changed.  If it was me, and I have one, I would send it to a top class repairer who will service it and only replace movement parts if required.  If you keep the original patina, your watch will command more money by true Speedmaster collectors.

Good point Geo .  Johnnies watch looks like it's been well taken care of . If it wasn't , then I would consider the alternative . I guess I'm not a total purest .

Hi thank you all for your comments, the watch works perfectly and the thought of it coming back from a service with new parts horrifies me. I think I will leave her as she !
